Central Ferry Boat Ramp Renovation and Dock Engineering & Design
The Port of Garfield most recently put out a call for qualified architectural and engineering firms to submit their statement of qualifications and formal proposals for the Central Ferry Boat Ramp Renovation, Dock Engineering and Design project on the Snake River.
The Port's objective is to secure a comprehensive design that facilitates safe, efficient river access while accommodating seasonal water level fluctuations and environmental considerations. The selected form will provide a full suite of services, including site assessment, cultural resource coordination, permitting assistance, and final stamped engineering drawings.
Key project components include:
Boat Ramp Renovation: Addressing damage to underwater and surface portions of the existing launch.
Dock Engineering: Designing a high-durability, floating dock system to enhance safety and capacity.
ADA Accessibility: Ensuring all designs meet modern Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Broadband
Pomeroy Fiber-to-The-Home
The Port of Garfield is proud to have successfully completed a transformative broadband infrastructure project that expanded access to high-speed internet throughout the City of Pomeroy. This long-envisioned investment has strengthened the community’s digital infrastructure, creating new opportunities for businesses, residents, and public institutions.
For more than a decade, expanding broadband access remained a priority in the Port’s Comprehensive Plan. With the completion of this project, that vision has become a reality, providing the foundation for reliable, high-speed connectivity that supports economic growth, education, healthcare, remote work, and everyday communication.
